The water tower: it’s such an iconic image of Brooklyn that I could have more or less written any song and it would have been easy to relate it, but I did try to make it a song about late nights and early mornings, comings and goings, in my borough. It’s also a song about permanence, the kind we make ourselves.
—Lyrics—
if your hair should go grey
before mine should goes grey
i’ll dye it with silver
or shave like a saintly figurine
i will follow you
oh i will follow you
oh would you follow me
yes you would follow me
home in the purple brooklyn light
if you don’t have money
then i won’t have money
we will deal with disaster
we’ll laugh till it’s funny
oh would you follow me
yes you would follow me
oh i will follow you
yes i will follow you
out of the purple brooklyn light
oooh
you should lean on me honey
i’ll lean on you honey
if one day your memory’s
lost like a treasure
then i will remember you
i’ll be your memory
oh i will sit with you
yes i will sit with you
oh would you sit with me
yes you would sit with me
here in this yellow room
here in this yellow room
far from the purple brooklyn light
far away in another place
far away in another place
far away from the purple brooklyn light

I can’t figure out how to download/buy this, can someone help me out?
Pretty sure this is on Bandcamp: acereporter.bandcamp.com. Let me know if you can’t find it there…
I see it on there but not how to download it. When I go to that link it sends me where I can buy a song called Empress and I see where to but that one but not the Lean Honey Lean song.
Hi Renee — send me an email at chris at acereportermusic.com and I’ll reply with an mp3!
